Discover:

Meet and interview your client to discover a problem space.

Go through the discovery phase of the design process with your client, and write an individual reflection blog post documenting the process and the critical observations, insights, and learnings (Max 700 words).

Define:

Designers must clearly understand and articulate what the problem they are trying to solve for the user is. In this phase, designers will distil the information and insights gained from the discovery phase, and distil and develop them into specific problem statements.

Complete the define phase activities below and write an individual reflection blog post documenting the process and the key observations, insights, and learnings discovered (Max 1000 words).

Develop:

Now that you have clearly defined a specific design challenge through your final "How Might We" statement, it's time to explore many concepts to solve for it. Complete the develop phase activities while documenting the key observations, insights, and learnings, and write a final reflection on your final chosen concept.

Explore many different answers to your clearly defined "How Might We" statement seeking inspiration from a wide range of places. Test your best ideas by prototyping, and settle on a final concept design to further develop in the Deliver phase.

Deliver:

Discover and define a real problem that your client has, then develop and deliver a design that can meaningful impact.

You can achieve anything with the support of others. For the final phase of DES100, work collaboratively to develop and deliver a meaningful solution to your client's problem.

Deliver Phase must include

Documentation of iterative process leading to final design through images and text.

Feedback from client (or project stakeholder) on the final design, leading to new ideas and iterations (does not have to be physically made).

Solution rationale and reflection – A paragraph summarising the successes and shortcomings of your final design against your HMW statement. This could also include learnings from the project and how your design could be further evolved in the future. Max 1200 words.
